The Toolkit team is comprised of a steering committee and content providers. There is also a wiki manager who is responsible for maintaining the overall structure of the wiki and ensuring content is consistent with the editorial policy.

History
The Entrepreneur’s Toolkit is a joint initiative of the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) the Commission for Economic Cooperation (CEC) and the SEED Initiative. The Toolkit was launched to provide socially responsible businesses with a dynamic peer to peer information source.
In 1994, IISD published The Earth Enterprise Toolkit, as a guide for small environmental businesses in North America seeking to improve the success of their enterprises. This was uploaded to BSD Global as part of a larger resource on business practices for sustainable development.
In 2008, the Commission for Environmental Cooperation approached IISD to update the original Toolkit and develop a more dynamic online tool. IISD was also working with the SEED Initiative at the time, helping to understand better the kinds of support that social and environmental entrepreneurs in developing countries might require. And so the three organizations agreed to join forces and launch a new resource that would be fully online, that would serve social and environmental entrepreneurs around the world, and would allow for many more contributors to add new content.
The base content has been developed by a small group of content providers, based in Brazil, India, South Africa and Canada (covering Canada and the United States).
There is more work to be done; and we hope that all who read this page will be inspired to help.
