Disclaimer
The Toolkit for social and environmental entrepreneurs is an online open-content collaborative resource. We have adopted the following disclaimer from Wikipedia:
This Toolkit is a voluntary association of individuals and groups working to develop a common resource of human knowledge. The structure of the project allows anyone with an Internet connection to alter its content. Please be advised that nothing found here has necessarily been reviewed by people with the expertise required to provide you with complete, accurate or reliable information.
That is not to say that you will not find valuable and accurate information in this Toolkit; much of the time you will. However, The Toolkit and its founders cannot guarantee the validity of the information found here. The content of any given article may recently have been changed, vandalized or altered by someone whose opinion does not correspond with the state of knowledge in the relevant fields. Note that most other encyclopedias and reference works also have similar disclaimers.
Conventions to follow
Conventions for adding content will be further refined as issues emerge. For now, the main conventions include:
1. Always login before doing any edits. If you do not have a login, simply click the “create account” link at the top right of the wiki and follow the instructions.
2. Subject matter: One of the special contributions that this wiki makes is to provide tools to entrepreneurs who are trying to integrate social, environmental and economic issues in their enterprises. This differentiates this wiki from other resources that deal with only one or two of these issues.
3. Page length and content: each page should be substantive enough to give a good overview of the topic. We estimate that this requires a minimum of 1-2 pages of text as a start. All content should be original and highly specific to the country or region it refers to. Where others' work is cited, references should be used and a list of references should be added to the page.
4. External links: Given the integrative nature of material on this site, it may be useful to use external links to refer to other, more focussed sites. However, it is helpful to use internal links (links to pages created within the wiki) whenever possible. A useful way to link to external links is to include a level 2 heading called “See more” , and list them at the end of the page.
5. The name of the country should appear in the title of every page (e.g., South Africa: Laws and regulations for small enterprises; Green Buildings in India).
6. Each page added should also have a number of category headings added at the bottom of the page. This will ensure that it is linked to other pages in that category in the wiki. Note that the wiki is sensitive to capital letters and spaces. In order for your category links to work, they must be written exactly as the category name is written. You will find instructions on how to set up categories in the help page (http://www.entrepreneurstoolkit.org/index.php/Help:Contents).
